It's always sunny in Florida - 2015 NHL Mock Draft - Episode 1

Former Bruins 1st round picks Tyler Seguin, Dougie Hamilton, Malcolm Subban and David Pastrnak
7 days before the draft, it's about time to take a look at this years draft class and who the Bruins might pick with their 7 choices. In this episode we highlight the 1st round.

All picks are made with the assumption of no trades involving this years draft picks

With the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NHL entry draft, the Boston Bruins are proud to select

from the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League Travis Konecny

Defense or offense ? There's room for improvement on both of them and with Hanifin, Provorov and Werenski certainly going in the Top 13 it's all about offense for the Bruins 1st round pick. Fitting the Bruins pattern the most are arguably 6'4'' power forward LW Lawson Crouse and 6'1'' playmaker RW/C Timo Meier. If Meier is still available at 14th, which I think he isn't, it's a no brainer to take him. To me the best prospects available at 14th will be Nick Merkley, small playmaking center who recently dropped in the pre draft ranking and Travis Konecny.

The 18-year old out of London Ontario just finished his 2nd season with the Ottawa 67's, after beeing drafted 1st overall in the 2013 OHL priority selection. In his debut season, Konecny won the Emms Family Award for OHL rookie of the year, scoring most goals (26) and points (70) by a rookie that year. He's known as smart skater with great puckhandling skills and lightning release on his shot. At 5'11'' he can play both center and wing and TSN describes him as an "all in competitor, than can change a game with both skill and physical play" He has yet to work on his speed but already brings a good overall game to the table.
